African American Cultural Arts and History Center

The African American Cultural Arts and History Center (AACAHC) works to preserve African American history in Alamance County, North Carolina.

As a member of a six-person team, I helped design and develop a micro-site for AACAHC to display virtual exhibits. The center’s core audience skews older, and the director of the nonprofit wanted to appeal to a younger audience. While the site was developed, the COVID-19 pandemic also limited AACAHC’s usual visitors’ ability to come into the building. To make the center’s work more accessible, we revamped the exhibits page on its website to include online exhibits for visitors to experience at home.

Our team researched and developed an exhibit for the micro-site too to get the page kick started, which focused on segregated education in Alamance County.
